Graduating defenseman Ryan Barwitzki and returning forward Drew Booker both recently took home bursary awards towards their post-secondary education.
Booker, 18, was one of six recipients of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario Bursary, taking home $8,000 towards his post-secondary. The bursary recognizes each individual’s commitment to community service, academics, as well as athletic achievement.
Barwitzki, 21, was one of three recipients of theĀ Frank Santarossa Scholarship which saw him take home $1000. A human kinetics student at the University of Windsor, Ryan just completed his fourth season in the GOJHL split between Sarnia for his first three seasons and Lasalle this year.
He has volunteered his time with the Lasalle Minor Hockey over the past year while playing in Lasalle and during the summer months gets involved in his hometown of Sarnia as a volunteer coach for numerous skill sessions.
The LaSalle Vipers are very proud of both Ryan and Drew for these great accomplishments.
