Vipers’ head coach John Nelson

LaSalle Vipers’ head coach John Nelson says the new season started with the signing of two players Thursday (April 4).

Kyle Walker and Ethan Hamelin, both from the Windsor Major Midget AAA team, committed to the Vipers’ Thursday with form signings at the team’s office.

Walker, 16, is a six-foot, one inch centre/left wing who was called up in the Vipers’ recent playoff run. The LaSalle native is a student at Sandwich Secondary School.

Hamelin, 16,  is a five-foot, 10-inch centre/right wing. From Amherstburg, he’s a student at Villanova Secondary School.

Nelson said exit interviews have been completed with the teams’ veterans, and the next step in finalizing a roster is a Prospect’s Camp, May 8 and 10, which will lead into a main camp in August. – Gary Rennie
