Vipers Win In Front Of Moms To Cap Off Two-Win Week

The LaSalle Vipers won two more games this past week, defeating the Sarnia Legionnaires on Wednesday night in LaSalle and then the Komoka Kings on Saturday in Komoka.

Against Sarnia, six different Vipers found the back of the net in a 6-3 victory over the Legionnaires. Wylie Birkett paced the offense with a goal and two assists, while Tre Altiman made 31 stops to pick up his seventh win of the season in goal.

Looking to keep rolling on Saturday in Komoka, the Vipers came out flying and scored twice in the first 1:26 of the opening period. They would go on to score three in the first and then three more in the second to route the Kings by a final score of 6-1. Nick Graniero was the top scorer in the game, scoring twice and adding an assist, while Max Frattaroli, Ethan Martin, Carson Woodall, Adriano Tonin and Lee Knight all had multi-point outings. Ian Michelone made 28 saves and picked up his fourth win of the season. Aside from the victory, the day was highlighted by the Vipers moms making the trip and cheering the team on to victory.

Posting a record of 4-0-1 over their past five games, the Vipers will look to stay hot with two games in the upcoming week. Currently three points behind the Leamington Flyers for third place in the Western Conference, they will host the Flyers on Wednesday night in the second meeting of the season between the rivals. LaSalle will then head to Chatham for a Saturday afternoon tilt with the Maroons.
