The LaSalle Vipers are on a three-game winning streak after victories over the Chatham Maroons and Komoka Kings.
Against Chatham, the Vipers turned in another third-period comeback, battling back from a two-goal deficit late in the final frame to force overtime and then won the game on Ethan Martin’s goal. Max Frattaroli and Wylie Birkett scored less than a minute apart at 15:46 and 16:22 of the third period to get the game to overtime, before Martin notched the winner just 27 seconds into the extra period.
In Komoka, things weren’t nearly as dramatic as the Vipers dominated the Kings by a lopsided score of 9-1. Ethan Martin paced the attack with three goals and was joined by Cole Davis and Patrick McManus with multi-goal efforts. Martin and Ashton Anderson (three assists) were the top point-getters on the night, while Tre Altiman made 21 saves for his ninth win of the year in net.
Keeping pace with the Western Conference leaders, the Vipers see the second-place St. Marys Lincolns come to town on Wednesday night for what is a key game in the standings. The Lincolns have won all three meetings between the two teams this season and enter the game five points ahead of LaSalle. The Vipers will then head to Sarnia on Thursday night to close out the week’s action against the Legionnaires.
