Windbiel Backstops Vipers to 4-0 Victory

The LaSalle Vipers dominated a 4-0 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires last night at the Vollmer. Coming off a 2-1 road win in St. Marys on Friday, the Vipers carried their momentum into their first meeting of the season against Sarnia.

Goaltender Jake Windbiel was solid between the pipes, earning the shutout. Kaiden Harmon opened the scoring at 14:40 of the first period with his first career GOHL goal.

LaSalle added three more in the third period to secure another win. Ian Inskip struck at 4:45, followed by Matteo Vilardi’s first of the season at 6:32 and then Adriano Tonin found the net just over a minute later at 7:43.

Penalty trouble was limited to the Vipers, with Michael Cunha, Andon Harwood and Aidan Ostrovski each serving minor penalties over the course of the game.

The Vipers now hit the road for back-to-back games this weekend in Brantford and Waterloo before returning home next Wednesday to open October against Welland.
