Vipers Shine in the Third, Scoring 3 Straight to Defeat Kings

Earlier this month, the Komoka Kings visited the Lasalle Vipers, where the Vipers claimed a 7-3 win. This time, the score was even until the Vipers scored three unanswered goals in a dominant 3rd period. This game had high intensity as we saw 20 total penalties but once again, the Vipers emerged with a 4-1 victory.

Jake Windbiel started this game in the crease for the Vipers. The first call of the game was a penalty to Julian Gignac at 10:13. Despite the setback, the penalty kill was able to kill that off and shortly after they were rewarded with a goal by Joe Gingras, giving the Vipers a 1-0 lead. We ended the 1st period on the powerplay as Komoka took back-to-back penalties at 16:04 and 19:38.

Michael Lavigne took a penalty to open the 2nd period at 3:18 but 28 seconds later, Komoka was called for boarding. The Kings managed to tie the game up at 9:21 but this would eventually be their only goal of the night. We finished the period with three penalties. Brendan Gouin was penalized at 11:10 then the Kings got called at 15:30 and 19:40. The Vipers would head into the last 20 on the powerplay once again.

Just 33 seconds into the 3rd period, Max Brocklehurst wasted no time scoring the eventual game-winner. Komoka took a penalty at 10:14 which led to the insurance goal scored by Julian Gignac at 12:11 on the powerplay. Nick Graniero sealed the game with another power-play goal at 14:19. Final score 4-1 Lasalle Vipers
