Vipers Season Ends in Hard-Fought Game 4

With their season on the line in a must-win, do-or-die game, the Lasalle Vipers left everything on the ice in Game 4 against the Stratford Warriors.

Jake Windbiel returned to the net for the Vipers. Just like in Game 3, Stratford struck early, opening the scoring only 47 seconds in. The Vipers were ready to respond, and at 7:17, Kade McGeen buried the equalizer to get Lasalle on the board. Stratford regained the lead at 8:49 but on the power play at 10:25, Brendan Gouin capitalized to even the game once again.

The second period was high-paced and full of back-and-forth chances with neither side willing to let one pass. Ultimately, Stratford netted what would stand as the series winning goal at 16:13.

Despite being down just 3-2, the Vipers fought with everything they had to extend their season. In the final two minutes, Lasalle pulled Windbiel out of the net for an extra attacker. Stratford took this advantage and scored two empty-net goals to seal the victory and the series.

Although the season has come to an end, the Vipers organization would like to thank everyone who made this year possible. We couldn’t have done it without our incredible players, dedicated staff, passionate volunteers and loyal fans.

We look forward to returning to the Vollmer next season!
