Vipers Score Five Straight to Down Cyclones 5–2

The Vipers stormed back with five straight goals to earn a 5-2 victory over the Listowel Cyclones on Friday night in their third meeting of the season.

Listowel opened the scoring early, striking first at 4:35 of the opening period to take a quick 1-0 lead. LaSalle responded less than two minutes later when Jonah McIndoo found the back of the net at 6:47 to tie the game. Shawn Costello then continued his hot streak on the power play, giving the Vipers their first lead of the evening. LaSalle took penalties at 11:49 and again at 17:40 but remained ahead heading into intermission.

The second period belonged entirely to the Vipers, who erupted for three goals in just under five minutes. Max Brocklehurst started the surge just 1:06 into the frame, followed quickly by Aidan Ostrovski at 1:42. Josh Lepain capped off the stretch at 5:46, extending LaSalle’s lead to 5-1.

Listowel managed to pull one back in the third period with a goal at 12:57, but that was as close as they would get to a comeback. The Vipers faced some late disadvantages with penalties to Michael Cunha at 17:31 and Grady Spicer at 19:00, yet they defended well and secured the win.

LaSalle now returns home Wednesday night when they host the Elmira Sugar Kings.
