Vipers Rout Kings As Western Conference Race Heats Up

The LaSalle Vipers scored a lopsided 9-2 victory over the Komoka Kings on Wednesday night in LaSalle, pulling within two points of first-place in the Western Conference.

Cole Davis paced the offense with his first career hat-trick, and added an assist for his second four-point outing of the campaign. Linemate Patrick McManus totalled three points for the third straight game, and Max Frattaroli scored twice to reach the 10-goal mark, making him the eleventh Viper to do so this season. Ian Michelone made 36 saves for his 13th win of the season in net.

The win, coupled with Leamington’s loss in London, moved the Vipers within two points of the Flyers for first in the Western Conference. To get there however, they would also need to pass second-place St. Marys and London who currently sit one point back of Leamington and one point ahead of LaSalle in a log jam at the top of the standings.

LaSalle’s next action comes on Monday, February 20 when they will travel to London for a Family Day matinee against the Nationals, in what will be a pivotal game for both teams.
