Vipers Push Past Komoka Kings in Dominant 40-Shot Contest

The Lasalle Vipers met the Komoka Kings for the first time this season. The Vipers have now played everyone in the Western Conference expect the Stratford Warriors who come to Lasalle at the end of the month. The game started out slow when the first 20 minutes of play finished in a tie. The next 40 minutes of play we saw 6 more goals from the Vipers.

Komoka opened the scoring quick at only 53 seconds in. The Vipers fought back and 5 minutes and 37 seconds later, Adriano Tonin scored his 6th of the season equalizing the score at 1. Assists to Brody Jones and Zach Vaillancourt.

Almost halfway through the second period, rookie deferencemen Noah Caswell scored his 1st GOJHL goal giving Lasalle their first lead. At 13:05, Jak Thiessen followed with his 1st goal of the night. Matteo Vilardi then found the back of the net at 13:59, scoring what would later be ruled as the game-winning goal. The score was 4-1 heading into the last period.

AP goalie Hunter Welk started the third period for the Vipers. Adriano Tonin scored his 2nd goal of the game at 6:30. Komoka continued to fight back scoring their 2nd at 10:27. A Komoka player was called for 2 penalties at 14:31 which resulted in 2 Vipers powerplay goals. Julian Gignac scoring his 7th of the season and Jak Thiessen scoring his 2nd of the game and 9th of the season. The final goal was scored by Komoka at 16:40. The final shots on net were 40-24 Lasalle.

The Lasalle Vipers have back-to-back away games this weekend. On Saturday November 9th, we are in Strathroy to face the Rockets and on Sunday November 10th, we are in Listowel to face the Cyclones.
