The Vipers commenced the 2026-2027 season last night in an impressive manner with a 5-2 win on the road over the Komoka Kings.
After a long offseason, LaSalle wasted little time establishing themselves, coming out with pace early in the opening period. The period saw both teams score their first goals with AP forward Ben Muscedere opening the scoring.
Heading into the second all tied up, the Vipers carried their momentum with Connor Chartrand finding the back of the net on the powerplay. This goal resulted in a milestone for the captain gaining him his 100th GOHL point.
The Vipers started the third frame up by 1 with Kale Pucovsky finding the net for his first of the season. Komoka responded later on in the period putting them within one before Pucovsky regained the two goal lead with his second of the night. To solidify the win, first year defensemen Max Howlett found the empty net to settle the score at 5-2 Vipers.
The Vipers are back in action for their home opener Wednesday against the Western Conference Champions, St. Mary’s Lincolns.
