Vipers Left Searching For Answers As Losses Mount

The LaSalle Vipers dropped both of their games this past week to push their winless skid to seven games. A 3-2 loss to the St. Marys Lincolns on Wednesday night in LaSalle, was followed by a 8-3 defeat the next night in Leamington.

What was the team’s driving force through the first 10 games of the season, goaltending has become a scramble for the team during the losing streak. With Matthew Tovell already playing up with the Windsor Spitfires, newly acquired goaltender Matthew Sbrocca lasted just one period in his season debut against the Lincolns, when an injury forced him from the game early in the second period. That has left the onus on Jr. C AP Ethan Carlone, who relieved Sbrocca in the St. Marys game and then played the entire 60 minutes against Leamington.

Stephane Crevier and Ethan Hamelin scored the goals in the loss to St. Marys. while Noah Morneau scored twice and Crevier notched his team-leading 10th of the year in the loss to the Flyers.

The Vipers will host the Sarnia Legionnaires this coming Wednesday night as the calendar flips to December.
