Vipers Head Into Break With Loss to Cyclones

Two days after their final home game of 2025, the LaSalle Vipers officially wrapped up the year, falling 4-1 to the Listowel Cyclones.

Listowel struck early, opening the scoring just 1:06 into the contest. The Vipers responded later in the period after the Cyclones were sent to the penalty box, with Kade McGeen capitalizing on the power play to tie the game at one. LaSalle faced some penalty trouble, but the game remained tied as the Vipers started the second frame on the man advantage.

The middle period was quiet on the scoresheet, featuring only two recorded events. Listowel netted what would be the game-winning goal just 33 seconds into the period. The only other notable moment came at 15:02, a cross-checking call to the Cyclones.

Tensions picked up in the final frame as the game began to slip away from LaSalle. The Cyclones added back-to-back goals at 6:39 and 11:19 to extend their lead. A total of seven penalties were handed out in the final 10 minutes, but the Vipers were unable to come back. Despite the close game, the result ultimately favoured Listowel.

The Vipers will now enjoy some rest and return to action in the new year.
