The Lasalle Vipers are having quite the start to October as they have now won the first 3 games of the month. After beating Caledonia 5-1 one week ago and Pelham 4-3 this past Sunday, the Vipers were looking to add another two points.
Dante Bertolin started in net last night for the Vipers. It wasn’t till the second half of the first period when Max Brocklehurst received the first penalty of the game. Followed by a goal by Joe Gingras, his second of the season. Adriano Tonin added another one at 16:19. Tonin playing in his 100th GOJHL game. To finish out the period, Strathroy scored at 18:01. This would eventually be the only goal they would score all game.
5:12 into the second period, Strathroy was called for holding which gave Zach Vaillancourt a chance to score his fifth goal of the season on the powerplay. Only a minute and 30 seconds later, Brendan Gouin added another one to the tally assisted by Julian Gignac. Gignac’s second assist on the night. 4-1.
The score during the third period stayed the same. The only call being a tripping penalty to Strathroy. Total shots on net fell even at 33-33.
