The LaSalle Vipers closed out their final home game before the Christmas break with a strong 4-2 win over the London Nationals on Wednesday night.
London opened the scoring early, netting at goal at 2:29 of the first period. A penalty to Aidan Ostrovski was the only call between the opening goal and LaSalle’s response later in the period. Michael Cunha tied the game up at 16:34, and the first period finished deadlocked at 1-1.
The Nationals took penalties at 2:18 and 13:16 of the second period. Ian Inskip extended his point streak to three games with a goal at 16:09 to give LaSalle a 2-1 lead. Three penalties were handed out within the final four minutes as the game began to get physical.
London answered early in the third, tying the game at 5:08, but the Vipers wasted no time responding as Nic Rosati buried the game-winning goal at 6:47. LaSalle held the lead the rest of the way, and Kieran McNally sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 18:10, assisted by goaltender Jake Windbiel.
The Vipers close out the first half of the season at home with the win. They now head to Listowel on Friday for their final game of 2025.
