On Wednesday, December 22, the LaSalle Vipers defeated the Strathroy Rockets by a score 6-2 in their final game before the Christmas break.
After missing several games with an injury, Ethan Hamelin paced the Vipers offense with two goals, including what stood to be the game-winner coming on a breakaway in the second period. Spencer Lecot had a goal and assist, while Nic Pavia and Noah Morneau each recorded two assists. Goaltender Matt Sbrocca also returned from an injury and stopped 24 shots to pick up his first win of the year.
The win snapped a three-game winless streak and kept the Vipers over .500 with a record of 12-11-2-1. Through 26 games played, they remain in sixth-place in the GOJHL’s Western Conference.
The team’s next action will come on January 5, when they host the St. Thomas Stars.
