The LaSalle Vipers hit the road on Friday night to face the St. Thomas Stars, looking to bounce back after a loss to Stratford earlier in the week.
LaSalle got off to a strong start in the opening period. Kale Pucovsky scored first at 7:25, giving the Vipers an early lead. The offence continued when Michael Cunha found the back of the net on the power play at 11:17, extending the Vipers’ lead to 2-0. St. Thomas responded late in the first period, scoring to pull within one and sending the teams into intermission with LaSalle holding the advantage.
The second period saw the Vipers penalty kill often, as they faced three penalties. The Stars capitalized later in the frame, scoring at 16:09 to even the contest at 2-2 heading into the third.
The third period belonged to St. Thomas. The Stars struck three times in the span of just under four minutes, with goals at 5:06, 7:34, and 9:04, winning this contest 5-2.
The Vipers will look to regroup as they return home on Sunday to face the Sarnia Legionnaires.
