The Lasalle Vipers are excited to announce Chad Shepley as our new head coach.
“I am very pleased to announce Chad as our new head coach.” General Manager John Nelson said. “He has proven himself as the Vipers defense coach over the past 5 years and we feel he is ready to take the next step as head coach of the LaSalle Vipers.”
Shepley, 31, spent the past 5 seasons as the assistant coach of the Vipers. During his tenure the team made the playoffs every year, Matt Beaudoin, Chad Shepley along with assistant coach Eric Noel were named the GOJHL Western Conference Coaching Staff of the year in 2023. “Chad knows our culture, believes memorable life experiences are a priority and has done an excellent job developing junior hockey players the past 5 years.” Nelson said.
Chad was a defenceman for the LaSalle Vipers for 2 years 2011-2013. He last played as a defenceman for the University of Windsor Men’s Hockey Team in 2015, winning a USport Queen’s Cup Championship in 2014. “I am really excited to continue my passion for hockey with the Lasalle Vipers as the head coach next season.” Shepley said. “Having been on the staff as an assistant coach for the past five years, I feel we have a great opportunity to continue the work that has been put in over those years in developing a great experience for our players and a competitive team on the ice.”
Shepley’s overall Viper experience continues his passion for success as a head coach. “Having played for the LaSalle Vipers in junior hockey and being on the staff for the past five years, this is a big moment of pride for me. Lasalle is my home when it comes to hockey.”
Last season the LaSalle Vipers were the 6th youngest team in the GOJHL. The 2023-24 season the Vipers will be one of the older teams in the league. “The group of players we have returning is full of mature players that have winning potential. I am eager to get started in September.” Shepley said.
On behalf of the LaSalle Vipers entire organization we would like to welcome Chad as the LaSalle Vipers New Head Coach.
