LaSalle Vipers’ Dylan Robinson wins award

LaSalle Vipers’ defence man Dylan Robinson has won the CIMCO Refrigeration award as most outstanding rookie defence man in the Western Division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The Simcoe, Ont. native was also named to the rookie first all-star team for the division.

“I think Dylan is well deserving of the award,” said Vipers’ head coach John Nelson. “He’s really matured this year.”

A third round draft pick of the Windsor Spitfires in 2018, Robinson was signed by the OHL club and has played eight games for them this season.

Robinson has a goal and eight assists in five playoff games so far, trailing only Vipers’ captain Brett Vorshuk in playoff scoring.

“His offensive upside is tremendous,” said Nelson. “I think he’s proven he can play in the OHL.”
