Led by Stephane Crevier’s two goals, including the game winner, the LaSalle Vipers beat the St. Thomas Stars 5-2 on the road Friday for their second win this week.
Vipers’ goalie Jackson Bernard stopped 27 of 29 shots for the win.
The Vipers took a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Zane Dalpe and Evan Ferguson. But the Stars bounced back in the second period to tie it up.
Crevier got his first goal about three minutes into the third period and Kory Silverio scored unassisted with about three minutes to go in the game to pad the lead.
Crevier added an empty net goal with less than a minute to go.
Vipers’ captain Brett Vorshuk and linemate Matt Carvalho both had assists on Crevier’s goals for two point nights. Silverio also had an assist on Dalpe’s goal for a two point night.
The Vipers outshot the Stars 37-29. Only three penalties were called in the game. The Vipers had no power play chances and killed off the only Stars’ power play. – Gary Rennie
