Lasalle Concludes Season Series with Loss to Listowel

The Lasalle Vipers faced off against the Listowel Cyclones on Sunday afternoon in the last matchup of the season between the two teams. In the last 3 meetings in this season series, Listowel had two wins and Lasalle had one.

The game began with an early goal from the Cyclones, scoring at just 44 seconds into the first period. Joe Gingras was handed a 10-minute misconduct at 2:50. Listowel took back-to-back penalties at 8:34 and 10:17. The Vipers couldn’t capitalize on those powerplays, but Alec Stewart scored late at 19:23, sending the teams into first intermission locked at 1 a piece.

Three penalties were called before the 10-minute mark of the second period- two against Listowel and one against Lasalle. The Cyclones regained the lead at 13:51 and extended it with another goal at 14:31. Matteo Vilardi brought the Vipers back within one scoring at 17:09.

No action was recorded until 10:38 of the third period when the Cyclones scored their fourth goal of this contest. They struck again at 12:39, bringing their goal tally up to five. The only penalty of the period came when Joe Gingras was called for tripping. The Cyclones took advantage of this powerplay and scored their final goa at 15:04l. Final 6-2.

The Vipers are back home on Wednesday January 22nd to face the Komoka Kings. Next away game is Saturday January 25th in Strathroy.
