Lasalle was on a 3-game losing streak coming into tonight’s game. They were looking to get into the win column Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex vs St. Thomas.

It was an action-packed game with lots of hits, penalties and goals! In the first period teams traded shots but St. Thomas struck first just 3 minutes and 39 seconds into the game. A couple minutes later the vipers were on the powerplay when Ferguson corralled the puck at the faceoff dot turned and fired it into the net tying the score at 1 a piece. On the play there was another penalty called so the vipers stayed on the powerplay. It only took 40 seconds for Pizzuto to find the back of the net from a slapshot from the point making it a 2-1 game for the vipers with 12:30 left in the first period. It took 12 minutes for St. Thomas to respond, they scored on the powerplay to make it all tied at 2 going into the second period. Shots in period 1 were in favour of Lasalle 14-12. In the second the Vipers started on the powerplay from a call that happened at the start of the period. It only took the vipers 1 minute to get on the board. Silverio buried it from the high slot on a pass from AJ Ryan and Pizzuto, vipers now led 3-2. 9 minutes later Dalpe gave a slick feed to AJ Ryan who buried on a one-timer it for his 28th goal on the campaign. Vipers now led 4-2. About 7 minutes later the same identical play occurred between Vorshuk and Chumley on a 2 on 1 where Vorshuk fed Chumley who buried the open one-timer making the score 5-2. Off to the third, vipers shorthanded, puck gets chipped up the boards past the defender and Carvalho gets sprung on a shorthanded breakaway who put it past the netminder making it a 6-2 game. 10 minutes later, Crevier fed Paradis from behind the net to the slot who made no mistake putting it past the Stars goalie making it a 7-2 game. The final shot count was Lasalle 38 and St. Thomas 27. Jackson Bernard played lights out stopping 25 of 27 shots on goal.
